Did you know King Solomon didn’t become a king without some significant drama. In 1 Kings we discover Adonijah son of Haggith attempted to steal the throne from Solomon. “He prepared chariots, cavalry, and 50 men to run ahead of him.” (1 Kings 1:5). He conspired with several people that supported him but conveniently left out David’s trusted advisors as well as Solomon. He even went as far as sacrificing a bunch of animals. When Nathan the prophet heard about what was happening, He immediately tried to stop it and proved he was a man of both faith and action. Solomon not only became king but was the wisest person who has ever lived. In Proverbs he reminds us “knowing God is the key to wisdom.” There is a big difference between “having the facts” which is knowledge and “applying those facts to life” which is wisdom.
Which type of person are you?
1) Sees a problem in the world and does something about it*
2) Sees a problem in the world and watches it happen*
3) Wakes up and wonder what happened*
*(From book "Hope Grows in Winter" by George Miller and Woodrow Kroll)
“Always maintain hopefulness, especially when the going is hard” (Positive Thinking Every Day by Norman Vincent Peale)
“Let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth” (1 John 3:18)
This song is a great reminder “there’s a Savior calling and promising a brand new life!”
Wake Up Sleeper – Austin French
“I bet you like that freedom
I bet you like your new name
Oh, welcome to the kingdom
Yeah, we all feel that way
So if you meet somebody sleeping like the way you used to be
Tell em bout the Savior
And a little thing called free”
Have a great day!
