Something this Christmas that is too big and wonderful to be wrapped in paper or put into a gift box is three simple but profound words. God loves you! Let that sink in for a few precious moments. He loves each of us so much He sent His only Son into the world to be the payment for our sins. 1 Cor. 2:9 says "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." Knowing He loves us "gives us hope and courage to press on in this life" because "the best is yet to come."
As we open our gifts this Christmas, let's be reminded of why we celebrate this time of the year. "For there is none like you, nor is there any God besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears" (2 Samuel 7:22).
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16)
"Only as we drink down the kindness of the heart of Christ will we leave in our wake, everywhere we go, the aroma of heaven, and die one day having startled the world with glimpses of a divine kindness too great to be boxed in by what we deserve" (Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund)
Wishing You and Your Family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
