I have a confession to make to you. This weekend I watched too much football. Sure each of the four games were decided in literally the final ticking seconds and they were all fantastic games to watch. It's crazy how excited people get about football. Tailgating before the games, dressing up in ridiculous costumes, screaming at the top of our voices and of course, celebrating after declaring victory over our opponents. The only thing it costs us is our time and some money. It doesn't take much effort to watch a game as we critique the coaches and players from our living room. It is a roller coaster of raw emotions as our team gains the lead only to possibly lose it in the final seconds.
Isaiah 61:10 reminds us of something we can constantly rejoice about regardless of the score or our season of life. It says "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God." As a believer in Christ, there is so much to be grateful and thankful for, we should be bursting at the seams in joy. "I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; the humble shall hear of it and be glad" (Psalm 34:1-3). If you are looking for a spring in your step and a melodious song in your heart, be reminded of your eternal salvation, forgiveness of sins, His Holy Spirt, being adopted into His family and having a focused purpose and mission. That is definitely something to rejoice about big time!

"The Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly" (Psalm 84:11-12)
"At such a time, God told Solomon His people were to pursue four things that would bring healing: humility, prayer, repentance, and seeking God's face" (40 Days of Prayer by Stephen Rice)
