Romans 8:31 gives us a question to ponder. "If God be for us, who can be against us?" Can discouragement, frustration, disappointment, hostility or weakness keep us down if we have the one true God of the universe on our side? Be encouraged today by Psalm 46:1 that says "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."
On challenging days I like to take a deep breath and exhale, step outside and look up into the Carolina blue sky and remind myself the sky is not falling. Psalm 46:2 reminds us just how much we can trust God. "Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea." You might be asking yourself "Can God really be trusted? The Bible reminds us over and over again that He is trustworthy. "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man" (Psalm 118:8). "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed in the man who trusts in Him! (Psalm 34:8).
"God speaks to his people in remarkably different ways - through the written Scriptures, through the words of others, through circumstances and events. It is up to us to listen, to be perceptive, to be alert. What is God trying to say to you today?" (HCSB)
"They can because they think they can" (Virgil)
"Why not build into your life an unhurried quiet, where, among other disciplines, you consider the radiance of who he actually is, what animates him, what his deepest delight is?" (Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund)
"In sanctification, the one who has been born again deliberately gives up his right to himself to Jesus Christ, and identifies himself entirely with God's ministry to others" (My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers)
Have a great day!
