Listen to these comforting words read from our devotion this morning. “It is I; do not be afraid. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, … your Savior.” One thing is consistent whether we are having a mountaintop experience and walking through the “valley of the shadow of death,” God’s love for us is constant. It all points to the reason He sent His perfect Son to be crucified. Immanuel, “God with us.” He created us to have a relationship with Him and if he took care of the big thing by sending His Son, He is surely going to take care of everything else.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8: 35, 37-39)
“For we are God’s coworkers. You are God’s field, God’s building.” (1 Cor. 3:9)
This new song encourages us to let our walls of fear come tumbling down when Christ love moves in our lives.
“All of my fears, like Jericho walls, Gotta come down, come down All of my fears, like Jericho walls, Gotta come down, come down Oh Lord, my prison turns to ruin When Your love moves in All of my fears, like Jericho walls, Gotta come down, come down Come down”
Have a great day!
