This past weekend I got the opportunity to speak at the Father-Son Retreat at Camp Caraway to over 50 attendees. The theme for the weekend was "Be a Doer" from James 1:22. During the Saturday morning worship service I spoke on "Hear the Word. Faith comes from hearing." I used an illustration for the group that consisted of a phone and receiver made with two red solo cups and a piece of yarn. Two youths were invited to come up to hold the two cups. One would speak truth from the Word and the other was intently listening. As I shared the following things for the youth to say, I stood in the middle either blowing a whistle, hitting a piece of wood with a hammer or ringing a cowbell. My prayer this morning is that you would hear these truths, not be distracted by the surrounding noise and know just how much God loves you this morning.
1) I am forgiven (Ephesians 1:6-8)
2) I am redeemed (Ephesians 1:13-14)
3) I am saved (Romans 5:8)
4) I am loved (Romans 5:5)
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
(John 3:16)
Have a great day!
